Parent & Child Swim Lessons
Maximum instructor to student ratio is 1:10
Shrimp/Kipper
Ages 6 - 12 months
Parents accompany children in the water. Songs, games and helpful information are included with parent/child interaction, water adjustment, basic swim movements and water safety. One adult per child required.
Inia/Perch
Ages 12 - 36 months
While swimming with parents, toddlers are encouraged to explore the water and learn basic swimming skills and water safety through water play, songs and use of flotation aids.
Parent & Pre-School
Ages 3 - 4
A great first swim class for young swimmers. While swimming with their parent, children learn basic swimming skills and water safety while building independence and confidence in the water.
Pre-School Swim Lessons
Maximum instructor to student ratio is 1:6
Pike
Ages 3 - 5; Beginner
A swim class for beginner swimmers. This class introduces basic swim skills, pool safety, use of flotation devices and independence in the water.
Eel
Ages 3 - 5; Advanced Beginner
A swim class for the advanced beginner swimmers. This class is for the child adjusted to the water, willing to get their face wet and is comfortable on back.
Youth Swim Lessons
Maximum instructor to student ratio is 1:8
Polliwog
Ages 6 & up; Beginner
A beginner swim class for swimmers who have little swimming experience. Children become comfortable in the water while learning basic swim skills, water safety and use of flotation aids.
Guppy
Ages 6 & up; Advanced Beginner
Swimmers who are ready to learn whole strokes are introduced to front crawl with rotary breathing, backstroke and water safety skills.
Minnow
Ages 6 & up; Intermediate
Swimmers work on front crawl, breath holding, swimming with arms and legs, building confidence and self-esteem while developing more water safety skills.
Aquacise
Classes held year round at
The Y and during the summer at the Guilford Yacht Club or the CT Hospice Outdoor Pools.
Ages 18 & older
A one hour fitness class that takes advantage of the unique properties of water. The workout will include a warm up, aerobics, toning, stretching and cool down. Flotation devices such as noodles and barbells will be utilized to increase resistance. Come join the Fun! Classes offered during the day and evenings.
